Summer Fit
Since the first official day of summer isn't for another 3-4 weeks (June 21st), I thought this would be the perfect time for me to share with my fellow WorldBeaterS a couple of tips on how to get fit for Summer 2011.
-First things first reduce the amount of calories you eat. Now normally I'm not one to tell my clients to restrict calories but since we are working against time i think this might be quite beneficial.Weight loss is as simple as "Calories in vs. Calories out" meaning burn more calories then you consume to lose weight. So by cutting back on the amount of food you eat means the less working out you'll have to do to burn those calories.
-HIT THE WEIGHTS!! Can't stress this enough, for whatever reason when we think of losing weight we think of long bouts with the treadmill, elliptical, or stationary bike. While all those things are good for being all around fit nothing is more important for weight loss then resistance training. Not here to bore you with the science behind it or is it important unless your studying to be a trainer, but a full body 20-30 min circuit style of workout will give you more bang for your buck then walking on the treadmill while watching tv.
-Consistency Is King. Nothing is more harmful to your future beach body then inconsistency. It saps your motivation and kills any chance of you getting into a rhythm. So if you decide to take this challenge (Yes I am challenging you) and get into better shape before summer...Consistently stay disciplined and focused on your goals. Being on point today and slacking tomorrow will not cut it.
