World Cup Wrap-up

Good job to Spain for winning a tough, gritty championship game.  It wasn't the most beautiful game, but a win is a win and thats all that counts.  Andres Iniesta's goal in extra time sent the streets of Madrid into a frenzy and put the Red Fury into the record books.
The Good:  Diego Forlan of Uruguay takes home the Golden Ball award.  Given to the best player of the World Cup.  Germany's Thomas Mueller won the Golden Boots award for having scored the most goals (5). He was actually tied  with 3 players others including Forlan at 5 apiece, but Mueller led the group with 3 assist.  Golden Glove went to Spain's Iker Casillas as the Cup's best goalkeeper.

The Bad:  This is an easy one.  The worst part of the World Cup was the officiating.  Goals being denied for no reason, blatant offsides violations not called, etc, etc.  I could go on about the officiating but I'll spare you.  Luckily its an easy problem to fix: INSTANT REPLAY and adding another official just to monitor the net.

The Ugly: The vuvuzela aka the stadium horn aka the bee swarm aka that hypnotic droning sound that left me in a state of utter confusion and disbelief when I first heard it.  All I ask is that fans don't bring them into NFL stadiums, yikes!

Hats off to South Africa for being a marvelous host.
